I am licensed and have SAI 1. I am considering updating to SAI 2, but as it is still in testing, I don't know if I want to sacrifice the stability of the original SAI for the new features of SAI 2.Anyone who has SAI 2, could you give me your opinions? What are the pros and (especially) the cons of having SAI 2? Are there many bugs?
Is the save/load feature stable? Is it prone to booting people off or freezing/ lagging? Is the interface similar to SAI 1? Etc.You can no longer comment on this thread as it was closed due to noactivity for a month. That is SO relevant right now!I just found out about this yesterday but as of the very latest version of Sai 2 (20180920) they offer custom brushes!

I don't mean those stupid textures that don't look all that good, but actual stamp like brushes like in photoshop! I don't know if the others before me mentioned it, but it's fairly new so not everyone knows about this feature I think.Aside from that. No I haven't experienced any bugs with my SAI 2 (I haven't tested the 20180920 version in dept yet since I updated just yesterday), and it's still pretty lightweight (i.e. Works pretty well on my older PC too). I also haven't had any issues with loading and saving. The only thing I'm low key annoyed with is the fact that new canvases are by default 'white background', and if you want to save transparent pngs you need to go to canvas, background color, and select transparent (I always run into this trap, when I try to save transparent pngs and then wonder why it isn't transparent.) But unless you exclusively save in png and don't use sai files, this isn't a major problem. The interface is quite different.
Especially the latest version that I spoke of above. Because of the stamp like feature there are more configuration options for the brushes, and there's now a small preview window for how the brush looks (which also is dope af, because before I used to have to try out the settings)And a few other things, that I liked a lot: I used to have to switch to Photoshop for adjustments, but SAI 2 now has gaussian blur, and more layer modes (almost as many as Photoshop and also brush modes in the latest version). Also you can now add text directly in SAI 2, so no need to switch to Photoshop to add a watermark! It also has rulers (different kinds I think, I don't use these), shapes (circle, square, etc; I don't use these either), and gradients (straight gradient and circle gradient, very convenient too)tl;drSAI 2 is stableNo problems with saving/loading (but default is non-transparent)New features:- gaussian blur.

So if you have a surface book, or surface pro 4 you'll notice you'll open SAI and the pen pressure doesn't work! What did I just pay all this money for? After searching for a solution, I, thank the Lord God Jesus Christ, finally got something to work. I found a youtube video where the person said to download photoshop CC thru Creative Cloud CC and copy some files. I also found something that said to download the wintab driver and copy it to SAI's program files. I did both, at different times, and neither worked. Now, I don't know if Wintab was there originally, cause I actually deleted it after it didn't work the first time, but after downloading Photoshop didn't work, I opened up the SAI files, and on the bottom right was Wintab 64 bit.

I double clicked it, installed it, and now it works great! I don't know what the problem is, I'm guessing Photoshop wasn't necessary, but it works! Here are the links:Hope this works! Comment and I may be able to help! Now, onto Beulah's commission!Lots of love and His peace be with you,Melody. Oh, Paint Tool Sai 2 is a improved version of the original Paint Tool Sai version that they've been working on for some years since 2011, but it's still a beta version for testing and updating about fixing bugs and adding whatever they put to Sai 2 that Sai 1 doesn't have. The problem with Sai 2 is that it doesn't allow us to save any arts as long as it's a beta version unless Sai 2 needs a new license to remove the lock of save and load, like Sai 1. When is it coming out?
I don't know, but they'll release Sai 2 when they're done with fixing and updating it to make sure it's a stable version in the future, I guess.IF you want to see Sai 2, check out on the site: and download 'SAI2 32bit or 64bit - Technical Preview' link there. After that, you can use Sai 2 to draw whatever you want for a test. Hello, I need a help about my Surface Book 2 with Sai. I tried to install WinTab Driver x64 bit, but it didn't work. Ezmaker usb 2.0 drivers vista ca. I tried to remove Windows Ink Workspace before restarting too, but it didn't work either as well as I tried to uninstall Sai 1 then re-install it again but it still doesn't work too, which made me pissed off a little. And I don't understand about copying some files from Sai 2 to Sai 1, but which files would I copy?
Would some files from Sai 2 that mess up Sai 1, wouldn't it? I'm a bit worried about that. Please tell me how to fix my Surface Book 2's pen pressure for Sai. Edit: I ended up trying the whole CC thing and just installing it helped to give me working pressure in sai!
